July is the month for summer fun. After kicking off the month with some delicious grilled grub celebrating Independence Day, to cruising on down to Del Mar to watch the infamous horse races and catch a variety of summer night concerts, this month has tons options. 4th of July /Firework Schedule
Ohhh. Ahhh. Let the fireworks begin! It’s time to celebrate America’s Independence! North County San Diego has a plethora of firework shows to choose from. Grab those blankets and get ready to embrace a spectacular show of lights in the sky!
Have you ever been to Felicita Park in Escondido? It’s near Del Dios Hwy & minutes from Lake Hodges, a fun spot to hang out for an afternoon with friends and family. There’s actually a lot of history here too! Join in on the Felicita County Park Museum Tour on 7/26 to view a collection of artifacts. There’s a $3 parking fee & the tour is free. Learn about key events that Felicita, the Native American princess, lived through. Love Star Wars? The City of Vista is hosting a FREE Summer Movie in the Park. This month they are hosting it at Brengle Terrace Park from 5:30-7:30pm. A Fun Fest it will be. Kids crafts, activities, bounce house & of course, Star Wars The Force Awakens will be featured.
July is the perfect month to fire up those grills and picnic in the park. Looking for the perfect spot to do so? Check out San Dieguito County Park in Del Mar – a 125-acre park featuring a variety of recreational activities including playgrounds, exercise stations, a basketball court, large open lawn and picnic areas as well as BBQ’s and restrooms. Did you know about their lookout tower? Cool place to take pictures. The park is open daily from 9:30am-sunset.
Looking for a new way to spend a summer evening that won’t cost you a dime? Head on over to Moonlight Beach in Encinitas for Sunday Summer Concerts by the Sea from 3-5pm. The first one is this Sunday 7/3. Check out the summer lineup as there will be a variety of bands ranging from rock/funk, 60’s, and reggae.
We know tickets are sold out but who’s to say you can’t go down to people watch! So start preparing your costume! Comic Con, 2015 is running from July 21-24th with a special preview night on Thursday July 20th. This year marks the 47th year for the show, making it the country’s longest continuously-run comics and popular arts convention. With anime screenings, blood drive, Comic-Con International Film Festival, Fan Meeting rooms, games and more, this is surely a convention not to miss. Oh, and let’s not forget the incredible costumes and people watching.

Four O’Clock Friday’s/Summer Concert
July 22nd kicks off the 4 O’Clock Friday’s Summer Concert Series at Del Mar Racetrack! Concerts are free with racetrack admission, or $20 if you arrive after the last race of the day. July’s concert series includes The Wallflowers, The Offspring, The Wailers and The Crystal Method. But stay tuned for August as they will featuring many more concerts including Ziggy Marley, Pepper and Weezer to name a few!
