The countdown has begun for the City of San Diego’s 41st annual free holiday festival! December Nights will feature our favorite holiday traditions, including light displays, choir performances, Santa Claus and the annual tree lighting. This year visitors will be treated to five stages with entertainment, more than a hundred vendors selling handmade goods, and a food truck alley featuring more than a dozen food trucks.
Start a new family tradition while making a difference for wildlife! Wear your PJs to meet animal ambassadors up close, and enjoy a delicious and bountiful “breakfast for dinner”—followed by special holiday activities, including hot cocoa and cookie decorating, making holiday gifts for your favorite animals, and taking photos with Santa himself. Then, embark on a decked-out holiday Africa Tram to sing animal-themed carols and hear stories about how we celebrate our animal family—just like you celebrate your family! Snow, music and lights! The San Diego Botanic Garden brings your favorite elements of the winter season all to one location. Leave the hustle and bustle of the malls behind and enjoy a relaxing evening strolling through the lighted Garden on December 1st – 23rd, and December 26th – 31st from 5-9pm. The San Diego Botanic Garden is a dazzling winter wonderland filled with over 100,000 sparkling lights illuminating the Garden for a magical holiday experience. Adding to the sparkle is the “Poinsettia Garden,” festively decorated with many varieties of poinsettias.
Winter wonderland on the beach? Only in California, at the Hotel del Coronado. Don’t miss this unique Southern California experience – outdoor ice skating overlooking the Pacific Ocean in San Diego’s year-round beautiful weather.
