#1850TBT… What is it? 1850 Throwback Thursday is an event with a twist. Most are familiar with Throwback being a time in the past but our version of this anecdotal theme is “throwing back” a pint of beer! We can hardly think of a better way to get together with friends on the last Thursday of each month to raise money for charity and supporting local business.
Raising money for charity? It’s one of our ways of giving back. For a $5 donation, we furnish your first round and enter you into our nightly raffle drawing for neat prizes. Additional raffle tickets are available for a $1. The current charity we’re supporting is Dogs on Deployment. This organization helps active duty Military find homes for their pets while on deployment. It’s a worthy cause as these pets are fostered by caring people who host the animals for a short period of time. Their biggest challenge isn’t finding homes for these pets but having the money to help buy food & supplies. So that’s where we step in & help with bringing awareness to great organization.
This month we hosted #1850TBT at Tap That Draft Beer Services tasting room. Tap That specializes in servicing and furnishing draft beer equipment, from sanitizing restaurant setups to rental of kegerators and weekend party jocky boxes. Travis and Kelly Esquibel are a husband and wife team who own the tap room where you can sample some of the best San Diego beers before you order your keg for that special event. They are very knowledgeable and friendly, ready to answer and help with any draft or beer needs you might have.
This event was no different that our first two: we had a great time with great friends while supporting a great cause. This event wouldn’t be possible without the participation of the community.
