La Paloma Theatre in Encinitas
Located off Coast Hwy 101 is a historical theatre in North County that was built in 1928. One of the first talking picture premieres happened here or as they said back in the day, “Talkies”. Lots of entertainment can be found here from silent movies to the most recent blockbusters to live musical performances!
Every Friday night the Rocky Horror Picture Show will be showing!
Rocky Horror is a rock-musical spoof of old science-fiction and horror films staring Tim Curry and Susan Sarandon. A live cast accompanies the cult classic making it more of a theatrical than cinematic event.
People yell back lines at the screen during the extended dialogue pauses, dress-up in tribute costume, act out the script, and throw props on stage, and in the air, throughout the film.
If it’s your first time seeing RCPH in a theater you are considered a “virgin” and may be asked to participate in a virgin ritual. It’s all in good fun. Don’t worry if you really don’t want to participate just point to the person next to you say they are a “virgin” too and that will relinquish you of your virgin ritual.
Insider Tip: Whenever you hear the name Brad Majors, yell “A-HOLE.”
Times: Midnight every Friday in October
Cost: $9 for adults, $7 children 12 and younger as well as seniors over 60.
The Paloma Box office only accepts cash.
