Daisy’s Cajun Kitchen in San Marcos
It’s not easy to find Cajun food in North County but look no further…a spot just opened up recently. Floyd & Tonya Marks opened Daisy’s Cajun Kitchen eight weeks ago & are serving up some delicious cuisine. Named after Floyd’s grandmother, Daisy, the home-style cooking they serve comes from generations of family recipes that originated in Louisiana.
Stop by for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. Open 7 days a week from 7am until 9pm & until 10pm on Friday & Saturday nights. Of course, a Cajun & Creole restaurant would not be complete without Fat Tuesday & some other specials, like:
- Every Tuesday after 3pm a batch of Seafood or Chicken Gumbo & Etouffee
- Every Friday night you’ll find Crab & Crawfish Broil on the menu
- Saturday BBQ cook-out with ribs, grilled chicken, porkchops & choice of sides.
The menu has a variety of items like Jambalaya, Red Beans & Rice, Soft Shell Crab Po’ Boy Sandwiches & cornbread muffins. For a full menu visit: www.daisyscajun.com
Luckily this restaurant is easy to find even though its tucked away in a business park (La Costa Business Center, a few miles west of San Elijo Hills). For being located in an unconventional setting, Daisy’s atmosphere is warm & inviting. Plenty of seating inside or out. They are fully equipped with a granite bar but they’re still waiting for approval on the alcohol license but don’t let that stop you from enjoying a glass of freshly brewed sweet tea.
They cater too! So just in case you haven’t planned your Thanksgiving menu, Daisy’s is preparing Deep Fried Cajun Turkey’s. Call ahead & place your order. $5 a pound, starting at 8lbs all the way up to 20lb Turkeys. Order fresh fruit pies too!
